The gardens at Hazelwood House are ever-evolving. We’re excited to bring you an update from Hazelwood’s Head Gardener, showcasing the dedicated efforts and new additions that have brought our gardens to life this summer.
This year, we are delighted to have secured funding from Sligo County Council under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme to restore more of the beautiful windows in Hazelwood House.
Using the expert guidance of local conservation expert Nicholas Prins we are repairing, reglazing and repainting 11 windows in the house, of which nine are basement windows.
After a long spell of wet and unsettled weather in July and August there is a rumour of sunshine on the horizon. This is great news for the gardens at Hazelwood as it will encourage the beaten down plants to produce new blooms and introduce some colour to the grounds.
