Sazerac Ireland is proud to announce its partnership with ‘In My Shoes’, a charity that sends used trainers to children in South African townships.

In My Shoes is a charity set-up by Sligo man Ciaran McHugh which aims to collect and send tens of thousands of preloved sports shoes to children in South African townships.

The shoes are collected via a nationwide campaign and will be brought to Sligo for sorting at a space donated by Sazerac Ireland at Hazelwood House. These arrangements will make it all the easier for families and schools to support the campaign.

Helen Mulholland, Master Blender at Hazelwood, said, "Sazerac is deeply committed to supporting charitable causes that create positive change in communities across the globe. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the 'In My Shoes' charity, by offering them the necessary space to sort and distribute shoes that will directly benefit South African Townships. We are pleased to be able to offer the space this year, while we still have the capacity to support their efforts."

In My Shoes founder, Ciaran McHugh, expressed gratitude for Sazerac Ireland's support. "We are delighted to partner with Sazerac Ireland to host our 2023 operation and help more children in South African townships. The sorting depot at Hazelwood Sligo property will allow us to increase the number of trainers we send and have a greater impact on more children’s lives."
