This Saturday, May 21st, is World Whisky Day and here at Lough Gill Distillery, we invite you to join the celebrations.

World Whisky Day invites everyone to try a dram and celebrate the water of life. Events are taking place all over the globe.

In Ireland, we like to call it World Whiskey Day; with that ‘e’ being extra important.

What better way to celebrate this day than with a dram of Athrú whiskey?

World Whiskey Day

Now more than a decade old, World Whisky Day takes place on the third Saturday in May every year.

This is an annual worldwide celebration of whisky in which everyone is invited to try a dram and celebrate the water of life, with events and tastings taking place all around the globe.

According to World Whisky Day organisers “All you need to do participate is a bottle of whisky/whiskey – whatever variety, however you enjoy it”.

Athrú Celebrates World Whisky Day With New 17 Year Old Oloroso Single Cask Release

This celebration gives us the perfect opportunity to introduce you to one of our latest releases: The Athrú 17-year-old Oloroso Single Cask Release.

Aged for 14 years in American bourbon casks and finished for three in the finest Oloroso sherry cask, waves of dried fruit and warming spices mingle with rich noble wood in this single cask release, creating a superb high-aged malt.
